Biography
Born in Campinas, São Paulo, Gui's musical career began at an early age with his love of guitar, singing, and dance. He graduated from UNICAMP (Campinas-SP University) specializing in composition and orchestral instrumentation, studying guitar and keyboard as his principle instruments. Gui has worked extensively in the theatre, appearing on stage as well as providing musical direction and arrangements for a variety of theatre companies, both in the UK and Brasil. Gui is passionate about sharing the joy of music with those who need it most and has worked with several social and arts outreach projects including work with drug dependents, singing therapy for the elderly, projects with the children of the Rocinha Favela, and conducting the UNIÃO Choir (Blinds Union of Brazil). In his professional life Gui has composed for radio and television as well as creating the soundtrack for several movies. Now based in London he continues to engage his full range of skills both as a performer and director, constantly taking his own projects in exciting new directions while remaining open to new ideas and collaborations.
